FACE MASK

Overview

Home-sewn face mask. Item is stitched together in a rectangular shape with elastic ear loops, utilising the running stitch method. The mask also has an expanded 'pouch' section running horizontally across the centre to accommodate the contours and features of the wearer. The front displays a decorative cat theme in multiple colours, and a white underside with grey lines.

Historical information

Hand-sewn mask made by Barbara Walker in March 2020. Made for her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jane Walker, for use during the COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020. Worn by Jeff and Jane Walker between mid-March to mid-April 2020 during shopping trips to Kelmscott Woolworths, Armadale Shopping City, Armadale Central Shopping Centre, Bunnings Armadale, and occasionally to work at the Armadale Library.
