Text below reads; (In October, 1829, when St. Georges-terrace was with verdure clad and wild flowers blossomed freely, a manuscript newspaper was nailed to the trunk of / a stately jarrah tree for the little world of Perth to read.It was the first West Australian newspaper of which any record remains).
