c. 1900

Historical information

Items such as tooth brushes and hair brushes would be made from bone. This is due to bone being resistant to water, its strength, appearance and it was relatively affordable which kept the cost of the final product low.

The Butcher family were early settlers in the City of Armadale region. The first members arrived in Perth around the mid-1980s as part of indenture programs or to join family.
