A formal black & white portrait of a 3 year old boy sitting on a low stool with his left leg tucked up under his right knee.
He is dressed in knee length socks, button strap shoes, short pants and a wide collared sailor suit top. To the centre of the sailor suit is a large buckle.One sleeve that can be seen is a full, slightly pleated, wide cuffed & buttoned.
In his right hand he is holding a ball.
Behind his left shoulder is a potted plant.

"When Benjamin Charles Gregory was born on 16 January 1910, in Northam, Western Australia, Australia, his father, Charles James Gregory, was 47 and his mother, Emma Elizabeth Haysom, was 30. He had at least 1 son with Louise May Ford. He died on 10 May 1973, in his hometown, at the age of 63."
