Overview

Postcard of drawing of two Yeoman Warders in their colourful attire. In the background is the Tower of London. The postcard has a broad white border with some damage to corners and foxing. On the back are the usual postcard markings and a description of the drawing on the front.

Historical information

Part of an extensive collection of postcards received by Vera VERGE from her sweetheart Private Edward Charles MOUCHEMORE 6351 who served with the 28th Battalion during the First World War. They met in Albany while attending the same school. Edward was killed in action at Bullecourt, France on 3 October 1918 at the age of 22. The collection was kept by Vera throughout her life and donated to the Princess Royal Fortress by a family member in 2019.
