PORTRAIT OF JOSEPH MORRIS LLOYD (PREVIOUSLY IDENTIFIED AS JAMES SINCLAIR)
1910B/W copy of photograph.
Portrait of Mr Joseph Morris Lloyd with a full beard and moustache neatly trimmed.
Winged collar, bow tie, pin striped 3 piece suit and white shirt.
Previously identified as James Sinclair but now believed to be Joseph Morris Lloyd per advice received on 19 July 2023 from descendant Ian Cook who notes:
"This photo is of my Gt Gt Grandfather Joseph Morris Lloyd born London 1845 , not James Sinclair. Joseph Lloyds father was James Lloyd & his mother was Elizabeth Morris hence his middle name Morris. Joseph’s married Catherine (Kitty) Sinclair who was a daughter of James Berkley Sinclair one of Toodyay's & WA's early settlers. Maybe this has caused the miss identification. The Lloyd’s had one of Newcastle's early Land grants which I believe was 4,000 acres originally named Nardie but then split to include Calbaline . My grand mother, a grand daughter of Joseph Morris Lloyd verified this before her passing. She had this photo of Joseph Lloyd in her collection."
