Below the photograph handwritten in blue ink is "TRIAL OF FARMERS FAVOURITE SEED AND FERTILIZER DRILL, AT 'SUMMERFIELD' KATANNING SEPTEMBER 1899 AGENT C.WANKE".

On the board of the drill in the photograph is "FARMERS FAVOURITE". There is a sign on the top of the seed compartment of the drill which reads "SHOW SWAN REACH FRIDAY SEPT 22 99"

On the back of the photograph handwritten in black ink which has faded is "Trial of Farmers favourite Seed Fertilizer Drill at Summerfield Sep 99/ Mr c.f. Wanke Man? Agent". and below this "Mr Wren" and in the bottom left corner a signature "JF Wanke 221 Halifax Str.".
