Sarah Olive Shaw standing in the rear doorway with fireplace next to it. Rolled striped canvas blind above doorway and horizontal wooden boards enclosing the unfinished roof gable. Shrubs at the rear.
Claremont home built 1917 by William Shaw. Only the front of the house was ever completed. Home demolished c.2002. House built on block which used to be a camp for the camel men coming from Fremantle. Lived in by Shaw family until 1984/5 when Sarah Olive Shaw moved to a retirement home in Nedlands. Ironically when the house was demolished, the new owners of the property constructed only the REAR of their new home and there were complaints re the 'eyesore'.
