OBITUARY: Mrs. G. F. McGregor,a resident of this district for the whole of her life time, passed away in the Perth Public Hospital on Wednesday morning. Mrs. McGregor was the daughter of Mr. J. Scott, of Stratham, and had reached the age of 59 years. Married early in life to Mr. Gavin F. McGregor, deceased moved to the then thriving settlement of Karridale, and at that centre was one of the most generous and respected of its residents. On the closing down of the mill at Karridale, the family came to live at Comet Vale, Quindalup, Mr. McGregor's old home, and there also Mrs. McGregor was one of the most appreciated settlers. About a year ago evidence of a dread malady manifested itself, and since that time a gradual decline in health was noticed. Mr. McGregor, who is manager of Millars timber mill at Marrinup, removed his wife from the Busselton Hospital to Perth in July last, and every possible effort was made to bring about a recovery, unfortunately without success. Mrs. McGregor leaves a grown up family, for whom much sympathy is expressed. Wallace, at Broome Hill, Allan, at Lakeside, Mrs. Alfred Hutchins, Nannup, and Miss Helen McGregor, who has been with her mother throughout her illness. The funeral took place yesterday, the remains being interred in the Karrakatta cemetery. The pall bearers were Messrs. G. W. Barnard jun., T. Delfs, J. Leech, Mervyn Bovell, L. McDaniel, and R. Timmings.
