HAT BADGE, 11TH BATTALION (CITY OF PERTH REGIMENT)
c. 1930 - 194211th City of Perth Infantry Battalion oxidised brass hat badge showing a seven pointed star surmounted by a king's crown.
In the centre is an embossed circle, around the edge of which is 'AUSTRALIAN INFANTRY REGIMENT'.
In the centre of the circle is a voided outline of a swan above a ribbon bearing the word 'VIGILANS', and a voided Roman numeral 'XI'.
Badge has two loops on the reverse.
Donor, Esma/Esme Berryman (born 1923) was the daughter of Alice Matilda Markey (nee Chitty) and William James Markey, so the badge is likely to have some connection with a member of one of these two local Toodyay families.
