Photograph mounted on cream card. Group of men, 5 standing and 2 kneeling. The six state representatives, are dressed in 'casual' dress of the period including cream trousers, open necked shirts, blazers, boaters. The man on the right, HA Kingsbury Honourable Secretary of the Claremont Amateur Swimming Club, is wearing a dark suit, light coloured shirt and bow tie. The group is on a grassy bank with fences and peppermint tree foliage in the background. The photograph is surrounded by an embossed border.

Historical information

The Club's full name was ''Claremont Amateur Swimming and Life Saving Club (Inc)" . Their first carnival at Freshwater Bay was on April 1, 1899. Prior to the Baths being built, they trained at the Claremont Jetty. At one stage (1920s) trained on Sunday mornings at the Claremont Baths. The club eventually moved to Claremont Pool. Although title indicates swimmers are interstate representatives, one is from Kalgoorlie !
