Great Southern Sheep Breeders Association Sale
1948A black and white photograph of six men standing on a platform in front of a group of men in a shed. The man in the centre is an auctioneer and the men either side of him are the clerks who all have a writing pad and pen in their hands. The men are dressed in suits, ties and hats.
This photo was taken in the sheep selling complex at the Katanning Show Ground. This sale was the Great Southern Sheep Breeders Association annual stock sale, selling merino sheep by auction in 1948. In 2004, the shed is part of the Machinery Restoration shed.
The clerks assist the auctioneer to identify buyers and then write down who has bought the animals.
