Doll's Petticoat

Overview

A sleeveless petticoat that has lace around the neckline, arms and bottom of the undergarment. The skirt is gathered at the waist and there are four rows of pleating on the front of the bodice and three buttons down the back of the bodice.

Historical information

The item is a cotton sewing sampler, it has been machine stitched with button holes, gathers, embroidery and pearl buttons. It is assumed that Ethel Nankervis who is Mrs Pat Richardson's grandmother made the sample.
