Statement of significance

The centre of any large power station is the control room where operators work around the clock monitoring and controlling the load of each generating unit. Manually operated equipment of the East Perth Power control room in 1949 hasa since been replaced by computerised systems in modern power stations. The glass etched doors framed with jarrah formed the entry into the control room from 1916. They were removed from the Power Station on its closure in 1981.
