GARDEN, GATE AND HOLDEN CAR
c. 1950 - 1959A small black and white photo of a corner section of a garden with a fence leading to garden gate of two wooden poles and a metal mesh gate. Further on are shrubs and a metal gate leading into a paddock large trees are to the right of the gate. A Holden car is near the garden gate. Numbers seen on the number plate which is slightly obliterated by branch of tree are 53-0? Photo taken from some height.
Peter Salvaire was the donor of this photograph and so possibly the location may be the front fence of the homestead on his Manmanning property in the Dowerin Shire or at his other property in Gidgegannup (referring to newspaper cutting held in the Shire of Toodyay collection, accession number 2001.1073)

The vehicle parked on the driveway is believed to be a Holden FX (48-215) sedan, which was produced in Australia between 1948 and 1953. Considering the model of the car and the style of the Western Australian license plate, the photograph was most likely taken during the 1950s.
