A sepia photograph of Clive St., Katanning looking West. The large building in the foreground is the "THE UNION BANK OF AUSTRALIA" and there is a wooden picket fence in front of it. In the background is the "FEDERAL HOTEL". The road appears to be dirt, however there is a pavement, and there is a horse and cart and a horse and buggy to the left of the bank building.

Inscriptions and markings

On the back of the postcard printed in dark lettering is "POST CARD", and in the top right hand corner is a square to affix a stamp. Underneath this heading are two columns, on the right hand side are lines. Along the left hand side is printed "Printed in Germany"

On the back of the postcard handwritten in black ink is "Aug. 20/8/15".
