GALA DAY, YORK STREET, ALBANY,1922

Overview

Black and white photographic image, shows a parade of decorated motor vehicles, buggies and horses coming up central York Street having just passed the Premier hotel. Many spectators are lining the route with a large crowd gathered in front of Lambert's Store (since demolished and now Albany's Central Post Office) and the comer of the Premier Hotel. The procession has just reached the well known SP bookies owned by Bill Denis, 'Hairdressing Saloon' with the striped veranda post centre left.
