Contextual Information

Panoramas were extremely popular in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The AG Sands photographic studio operated an early panoramic camera in Albany from 1912 to 1914 and produced many panoramic views of Albany. This image is one of several panoramic views of Albany in the Society's collection taken by AG Sands with a King George Sound, Princess Royal Harbour RN subject; Sands studio produced all of the iconic views of the first and second ANZAC fleets assembly and departure from Albany.
