On the back of the photograph handwritten in blue ink is "Les Radford. Works Manager Director - Mr Les Radford scoops up some rolled oats made in the factory. 1973. Katanning Flour Mills. The Milling of flour started in Katanning in 1891 under the direction of the original owners F. and C. Piesse. It was the first concern to install electric light in the State. Flour Mills"
