Three slabs of cheese wax in black, red and clear (white). Typically cheese wax contains paraffin (a petroleum-based solid), microcrystalline waxes, and colouring.

When melted and applied to the surface, it forms a breathable barrier that helps prevent moisture loss while shielding the cheese from unwanted mould and bacteria. This preserves the optimal texture and flavour throughout maturation.
