Trench art brooch made from Australian coins - 1914
World War One era trench art brooch made from Australian 1914 currency. The outer section of the brooch is made from a bronze penny with the writing 'Commonwealth of Australia 1914' still visible.
The centre of the penny has been removed and replaced with a voided example of a silver threepence, featuring the crest of Australia with the words 'Advance Australia' underneath, and the words 'Sixpence' and "1914' above and below the crest.
Both coins have been bent into a convex shape.
The reverse of both coins have the name of the reigning monarch and remnants of his portrait.
There is a pin clasp on the reverse.
