Overview

Tennis racquet, c.1920-30, made from wood with gut strings, end of handle covered with leather strip.
Trade logos painted on upper handle; one side depicts a globe with 'West Is Best' within black & yellow banners on a blue back ground.
The other side has the word Elle with ? In a red banner on a blue back ground.
There is some indecipherable lettering on the base of the handle.
The strings are in poor condition and shows evidence of previous repair.
There are traces of yellowing varnish on the wooden frame indicating that the whole was varnished.
