REBATE PLANE
Plane, made from wood.
Shaped with small inset wood at base to allow adjustable rebate. 1'8" metal blade.
Brass adjustment knob on top with brass foot.
A rebate plane is specifically designed to create rebates, which are step-like cuts along the edge or end of a piece of wood. These cuts allow two pieces of wood to fit together neatly, often forming stronger joints than simple butt joints. Common applications include cabinet making, picture framing, and fitting back panels into furniture.
