Historical information

Gala Day Procession on Rokeby Road
Museum holds original photograph only.

The tunic of the mounted rider appears to that of the Horse Artillery but of a style last actively worn in WA in the early 1880s, as the Horse Artillery troop was disbanded in 1882. The headress is not a typical Horse Artillery busby but rather a peaked forage cap with a star design badge.
