PHOTOGRAPH: THE BENEDICTINE MONASTERY
Black and white copy of photograph. Two nuns, dressed entirely in white habit, sit on the first of a row of benches, extending along the path to the left. Across the to the right is a large flower bed. The white building of the Benedictine Chapel appears in the centre of the image, with its large, arched windows with stained glass insets. A section of a large brick building, behind the chapel, can be seen in the background at the right. Several dark, dense trees appear at the left. The monastry founded by the Benedictines became an orphanage for boys and then later, for girls. W.A.Newspaper Neg. No. Hist 6374
