First World War Silk Postcard with ‘United’ embroidered in yellow below the Imperial Crown, allied flags and a shield depicting the colours of the flag of the United Kingdom. A spray of foliage with two (2) flowers and associated leaves is located next to this. There is a stain below the spray of flowers.

Historical information

Embroidered silk postcards were made in France during the First World War to send home from the military front to family or sweethearts as a way of keeping in touch. J.M. Tatessault was a prolific maker of postcards in Paris during the war.
