Mr W H Walker first owner. Mr Walker sold the store but repurchased it in 1920s. His grandsons Clarence and Jeff took over the running of the store. Before the war the store normally had a staff of five men. Mrs D Walker started working at the store when men working at store were called up for service in the war. Store sold groceries and small goods and was popular for its fully matured cheese which was matured on the premises. The store also had a gallon licence and was able to sell liquor in gallon lots.
