Overview

Diesel drawn, Fremantle bound, goods train approaching Claremont Station from east. On left, grass trees and shrubs, power lines, trees bordering Gugeri Street, milkman's entrance to No.1 platform and advertising hoarding. Platforms. Eastern footbridge with controller's box. Western footbridge with signal cabin. Signals, yard and goods sheds on right. In the background, blue roofed Churinga Gardens apartments, Stirling Road, and high rise building in Dean Street.

Historical information

Gravel surfaced platform used during Royal Show and for troop trains during World War II. Eastern footbridge and Controller's Box used at show time for pedestrian access and to oversee increased traffic on lines.
