PHOTOGRAPH: METTERS' WORKS - AERIAL VIEW
Black and white aerial photo of Metters' factory showing saw-toothed roofs. Salvado Road (with broken white lines down its middle) runs almost vertically from top to bottom on right hand side of the photo. Roydhouse Street runs diagonally across. Right at the top of the picture is a building with Humes' sign on it and several stacks of pipes are visible to its left. Another factory or several smaller ones with vehicles and manufactured products including pipes is to be seen in the lower half of the picture (below Roydhouse Street). Metters moved to this site in 1911. Some years after the company ceased its operations the buildings were razed (in 1986) and the site is now occupied by Home Base. This photograph was taken after its new showrooms were completed. The opening coincided with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Metters in Western Australia.
