c. 1900A very good photo on a postcard of Katanning taken from Amabel Street crossing which shows Mechanics' Institute, the Town Hall, the Flour mill and chimney, Piesse's Store and the Katanning Hotel.

On the front of the postcard on the left hand side in red lettering is "Katanning, W.A."
The letter on reverse side is to "Master G White c/o Mrs. Cronin Glencoe via Katanning WA". Glencoe was the Cronin family farm, letter relates the writers inability to go to the farm for a holiday because of work in Piesse's packing shed.
On the back of the postcard is printed in green lettering "POST CARD PRINTED IN GREAT BRITAIN" and then there are two columns with headings "For Correspondence" and "The Address only to be written here" and in the top right hand corner a square which marks the position to put a stamp.
