Overview

The Major Club Events Honour Board appears in the entrance foyer of the club's lounge room. This prestigious board honours the club's eight Founders.

Each of the Founders' names is allocated to an event in recognition of their service in establishing the club. These events are:

1. the Jack Bennett Trophy

(Men's) Nett Club Champion

2. the Ted Grigg Trophy

(Men's) Foursomes Championship

3. the Hugh Hancock Trophy

Mixed Foursomes Championship

4. the Tony Kelly Trophy

(Men's) Match Play Gross

5. the John Cusack Trophy

(Men's) Match Play Nett

6. the Bruce Harvey Trophy

(Men's) Four Ball Knockout

7. the Harold Ingram Trophy

(Boys') Junior Championship

8. the Murray Day Trophy

(Men's) Long Markers Championship

Historical information

Although the photograph showing the honour boards in this record displays results commencing in the early 2000s, another photograph in the archive (titled 'Founders' Honour Boards - Tony Kelly') shows an earlier version of these boards with results from 1969 onwards. That confirms that the boards were introduced during the first golf playing season and have been progressively replaced through time as the available display space was consumed.
