Overview

A portrait of 1981 Bunbury High School Head Girl, Raelene Robinson.

Historical information

In March of this year when head boy and head girl were announced I was stunned to hear my name read out. My year as head girl has been busy, exciting and exhausting. Bunbury High has provided me with many varied opportunities and rewarding experiences. Whether it be charading as a first year "phys-ed" teacher or guest speaking during "West Australia Week", I have enjoyed it all.

The job of head girl or head boy is naturally a very serious one and this year my total outlook on school life was altered. It was no longer possible to change out of school uniform and become an anonymity, as a prefect you carry the name and pride of your school wherever you go, whatever you are wearing. But the label of Bunbury Senior High School is a "light" one to carry.

At the end of November, the year Twelves will venture away from our protected lives at school. Undoubtedly the world will provide us with many obstacles and individual challenges, but I am sure, with the background provided by the staff and students of Bunbury High, we all have the resources to overcome these problems.
