BSHS 1981 Head Boy - Mark Archibald
1981A portrait of Mark Archibald, the 1981 Bunbury Senior High School Head Boy.
When I was first approached to write for Kingia, I immediately said, "no way". A few weeks later I am still saying "no way", but all to no avail.
Our duties as prefects commenced halfway through third term last year when the "then" prefects stood down for the purpose of studying for exams. My duties commenced after our Prefects' Camp at Boyup Brook in conjunction with several other prefect bodies. We all had a lot of fun and, more importantly, learnt a lot in the process.
Compared to previous years, my year as head boy has been relatively quiet, having only two official duties; these being the organizing and running of this year's Anzac Day Commemorative School Service and laying a wreath with Raelene at the Anzac Day Public Service. Also this year I had the honour of meeting Sir Peter Gadsden the ex-Lord Mayor of London.
Being head boy this year has been not so much a duty as a great honour and I would like to thank Mr Jones and Miss Bridsen, our Liaison Officers as well as the remaining members of the prefect body for the support they have given me throughout the year. In retrospect, it has been a job well done.
