Western Australian baseball batting helmets
c. 1985Two fibreglass baseball batting helmets with black visors and yellow painted crowns. The fibreglass has a lot of scratches and missing paint. They have two air holes in the top of the crowns, internal headhands of brown vinyl and no lining. The helmets have the manufacturer's label inside, indicating they are different sizes; one size 'M', the other size 'L'. The medium size helmet has a circular, 6cm foam padding disc attached to the centre of the inside of the crown. The padding is missing from the large helmet. The medium size helmet has a 3cm (approx.) crack in the fibreglass on the right-hand side lower rim. On the larger helmet approximately 20cm of the lower rim on the back is missing or damaged.
The batting practice helmets would have been used by a Western Australian State baseball team during the 1980s.
