This A5-size 16-page publication is the 'Official News of the W.A. Baseball League'. It is Vol. 1—No. 13 and is dated Sunday, September 18, 1949. It is printed on light sepia-coloured paper with black print. The cover page displays the publication's masthead which includes a pen drawing of a baseballer in full swing with the bat sending a baseball flying, and the price of the magazine. An advertisement above and below the masthead complete the front cover. The back cover has a full-page advertisement.

Historical information

This is the grand final souvenir issue of 'The Baseballer' published when the Perth and Victoria Park clubs played for the 1949 premiership.

The issue also includes: the line-up for the grand final teams; the premiership table for all grades; a list of premiership winners since the league's inception; team selections for the games between the State junior team and a Goldfields junior side in Kalgoorlie on 17th and 18th September; pen pictures of those junior players; details of the Australian Baseball Championship Series held in Melbourne; results of all 'A' Grade and Reserve Grade games played in 1949; and advertisements.
