Overview

A colour photograph of the 1989 Australia Green team at the International Youth Development Squad Friendship Series. The team is wearing the Australian playing uniform of a yellow undershirt and short-sleeved dark green playing top with single yellow bands around the neckline and sleeves. The word 'Australia' and individual player's number are printed in yellow on the front of the playing top. The pants are light grey, worn with white shoes and socks and dark green stirrups. The team is wearing a light green cap with a yellow visor to indicate they are the 'Australia Green' team. The cap displays the name of the squad in yellow. The team officials are wearing dark green warm-up jackets with yellow bands and sleeves. Printed in yellow on the front of the jacket is the name of the squad.

The photograph is mounted on white cardboard with the name of the competition, its location and dates, and the name of the team, printed in black text above the photo. Below the photograph, printed in black text, are the names of the team players, coaches and officials. In the lower right-hand corner, printed in black text is the name of the photographic studio.

Historical information

The 1989 International Youth Development Squad Friendship Series took place at Parry Field Baseball Stadium in Perth, Western Australia from July 5-16. The Australian squad comprised two teams, Australia Gold and Australia Green. The playing uniforms for both teams were the same except Australia Gold wore yellow caps with a green visor and Australia Green wore green caps with a yellow visor.
