PHOTOGRAPH: MILLER'S POOL, SOUTH PERTH
Sepia coloured photograph showing Mill Point, South Perth. There is a jetty, rowing boats, small yachts and a large, crowded ferry in the view. The ferry is the 'Zephyr' with the South Perth penisular in the background. This is the part the called Point Belches and the Miller's Pool is in the background. The Miller's Pool was being filled by 1939, with actual completion date unknown. This was done as part of the dredging and filling work that was done along the foreshore from Coode Street Jetty along where the Sir James Mitchell freeway is now, and around the point and down to the Milyu Nature Reserve and Marine Park. The present day land mark old flour mill is partially obscured by a tree.
