c. 1930Sheet music for the song "The Lone-Girl-Flyer" which was dedicated to Amy Johnson, the first female pilot to fly solo from London to Australia in 1930.
The front cover is mostly pale blue-grey in colour with the song title across the top in a darker steel grey. The words 'Dedicated to Miss Amy Johnson' appear above the song title, and "Song, Words and Music by Jack O'Hagan' below, printed in red.
Below this is an illustration of Amy Johnson's Gypsy Moth plane, 'Jason' in flight, with a portrait of Amy Johnson wearing her flying helmet within an oval, red border on the right hand side.
Underneath the plane and portrait is a depiction of a map of the flight route from England to Australia, with stops along Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia (VIenna, Constantinople, Bagdad, Karachi, Calcutta, Rangoon, Bangkok, Singapore, Sourabaya, Attamboea). The plane is shown in red between the various stops.
In the lower left corner is a red-bordered rectangle containing details of the singer of the song, and in the centre, the price and publisher's details.
On the inside front cover are the words and music to another song 'Indiana Skies', and on the inside back cover advertisments for other Allan's songbooks. The back cover features illustrations of the covers of sheet music for four popular songs, also published by Allan's.
