Overview

An oval shaped, pressed brass wall plaque featuring the relief portrait of aviatrix, Amy Johnson, produced to commemorate her record-breaking flight from England to Australia in May 1930.
A forward facing bust of Amy is depicted wearing her flying suit and helmet, with her goggles perched on top. There are two bird or angel wings extending from her shoulders.
Her nickname 'Johnnie' and the date '1930' appear below her portrait.
There is a small hanging ring soldered to the reverse.

Historical information

This plaque is one of a number of souvenirs produced in 1930 after the completion of Amy Johnson's solo trip from England to Australia in May of the same year.
