Text in the book: "Cattle Chosen is situated about 2miles from Busselton, and was founded by the late John Barrett Bussell; was so named owing to a cow lost from Augusta settlement being found with calf grazing on the fine pastures thereabouts. Bussell first visited here December 1831, and settled 1833"
