Overview

Circular 'A.A.O.C. Civilian Employee' identification badge named to Mr. P. Upton. It has a cream background with black writing and border. It has an identification number (2114) and is signed by the Brigadier who was the Director of Ordnance Services (D.O.S.).
The badge is made from metal with a plastic textured coating upon which the employee's name is written. The surface beneath the plastic has age spots and discoloration and the name has partially rubbed off.
The reverse of the badge is metal and there is a pin which fits into a void in the metal for attachment.

Historical information

A.A.O.C. stands for Australian Army Ordnance Corps which became the Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps (R.A.A.O.C.) during World War Two, dating this badge to the early years of the war.
