In June 1979 the factory moved into a unit in Buckingham Drive in the Wangara Industrial Estate. Business flourished and the factory moved in 1980 to bigger premises in Prindiville Drive. The Arts and Crafts shop also opened in 1980. The Gumnut Factory was featured on several television shows and was the subject of many publications and newspaper articles. Chris published a book, "The First Gumnut Factory" and built Gumnutland model village railway in 1987. Products were exported to the Eastern States and the factory was visited by thousands of tourists.
