Official Little League baseball - J. deBeer & Son
This official Little League baseball is an off-white colour due to the ingrained dirt in the leather. The stitching on the seams is a faded red. The ball has been inscribed with legible and illegible handwriting. The maker's mark stamped on the ball features 'J. deBeer & Son' above a baseball with 'Double' written on it next to 'Albany NY' written above a second baseball with 'Header' printed on it. The two baseballs are separated by a throwing player. Below the baseballs is stamped 'Est. ® 1889'.
This official Little League baseball was made by J. deBeer & Son of Albany, New York. J. deBeer & Son were established in 1889 and produced baseballs until being bought out in the 1980s. The style of the maker's stamp indicates the date of manufacture was c.1965.
