GENERAL MEETINGS 1973

Three General Meetings were held in 1973.

The proceedings of the Annual General Meeting on 22nd February included:

• Appointment and Election of Office Bearers and Councillors
• Clubhouse extensions – approval of a $30,000 loan from the City of Melville and calling of tenders
• Reticulation extensions – costing $37,000 including $27,000 in loan funds with good progress despite breakdown of bore and associated equipment
• Proposed connection of scheme water to the clubhouse to obviate concerns regarding council tip contamination of domestic water supply
• Proposed construction of kitchen and dining facilities
• Various discussions including the method of appointment of Officers and Councillors, introduction of novelty events during summer, separate competitions for mornings and afternoons on Saturday, reciprocal arrangements with other clubs, a Golf-a-Thon to raise funds for special projects

The proceedings of the Semi-General Meeting on 23rd August included:

• The appointment of Mr J. D. Cusack as Vice Captain after Tom Robson relinquished his position
• Reticulation extension in final stages of completion
• Management reports
• Participation in metropolitan and Associated Golf Club Pennants
• Hooker Rex $1,000 sponsorship of the Glades Open

The Special General Meeting on 12th December addressed two motions that were both approved:

• Increased nomination and subscription fees
• Honorary membership extended to include the City of Melville Mayor
