PHOTOGRAPH: ROSEBERY STREET, JOLIMONT - KITCHEN
1998Black and white image of the kitchen of Tom Fricker's house on Rosebery Street, Jolimont. At the forefront of the image is the stove, with rectangular white tiles and a flue going up the chimney. Above the stove is a wooden mantlepiece with pictures on display. In the centre is a painting of a landscape with ecalyptus trees, and on either side of the painting are two identical images in wooden frames of a country house. Below the mantle piece is a fourth, smaller image of a landscape mounted on white card pinned to the wall.
To the left of the stove is a newer oven unit with hotplates and a shelf above, and to the right of the stove is a kitchen cupboard with flour and sugar jars on top.
The house was a originally a Whittaker's worker's kit house.
