PHOTOGRAPH: ROSEBERY STREET, JOLIMONT - KITCHEN

1998
Overview

Black and white image of the kitchen of Tom Fricker's house on Rosebery Street, Jolimont. At the forefront of the image is the stove, with rectangular white tiles and a flue going up the chimney. Above the stove is a wooden mantlepiece with pictures on display. In the centre is a painting of a landscape with ecalyptus trees, and on either side of the painting are two identical images in wooden frames of a country house. Below the mantle piece is a fourth, smaller image of a landscape mounted on white card pinned to the wall.
To the left of the stove is a newer oven unit with hotplates and a shelf above, and to the right of the stove is a kitchen cupboard with flour and sugar jars on top.

The house was a originally a Whittaker's worker's kit house.
