Visit of Duke and Duchess of York
c. 1901A sepia photograph of a decorated archway above a road. The arch consists of two rectangular frames which are decorated with sheafs of wheat and joined across the road with a banner which reads "UNITED COMMONWEALTH". Above this banner is a single furrow plough with a sheaf of wheat. At the top of the left frame is a Union Jack flag and in the centre of the flag is a circle which has a lion in it. On the right frame is a flag which has the Australian Flag and in the centre of the flag is a circle which has a black swan in it.

On the back of the photograph handwritten in black ink is "William John. Begley" and underneath handwritten in blue ink is "Grandad Begley in Police Uniform in foreground" and underneath this is "Katanning WA FEDERATION CELEBRATIONS".
