• “Won outright by South Perth in 1954 and handed back to the Association for further competition under the same conditions”
• “Won outright by Subiaco in 1998 redonated for competition”
• “Won outright by East Perth in 1975 redonated for further competition”

The rules of the competition included that the shield could become the property of any club that won it three times in succeeding years. Three clubs achieved this but elected to redonate it for competition. 15 clubs overall won the competition.
