Souvenir of the 1973 Grand Fin and & Burley Special. Leather thonging holds together the aperture where the bladder is inserted or removed.
In 1973 the Subiaco Football Club won the premiership for the first time in 49 years . It was accompanied by a huge wave of enthusiasm. At the end of the game a number of souvenir footballs were kicked into the crowd. This ball was caught by the donor, and treasured by him for many years. Australian Rules Football has been an important item in the cultural & social history of Subiaco.
