Gumnut Figure, 'Owl' Toothpick Holder
Gumnut owl toothpick holder made of Banksia nut cross cut section glued together as an 'owl'. Seedpods on the 'head' denote eyes, mouth and brow. Feet are also of seed pods. A gumnut is positioned at the rear. The figurine is varnished in clear lacquer. Attached to the feel is a small square paper card.

A UNIQUE/GUMNUT FACTORY CREATION/Handcrafted from Gumnut, Wildflowers and seed pods Indigenous to Australia./Such as Banksia, Eucalyptus and Hakea./ This item has been specially treated against insects.
Donor was the owner of the Gumnut Factory in Wangara. The shop/factory was originally on Buckingham Drive before moving to Prindiville Drive. In 2003 the factory closed and moved to the Swan Valley. The shop in the Swan Valley closed in 2006 and the manufacturing ceased in March 2007. The donor designed the pieces and they were manufactured by Mark Noble. The Gumnut Factory was a local attraction in Wanneroo and one of the first businesses in the Wangara Industrial Park.
