Digital scan of sepia photograph. Image shows Mr Oswald Wearne with Les and Beryl in pony trap. Mr Wearne is formally dressed with jacket, waistcoat and shirt with tie. He is wearing a hat. Children are wearing hats. Mr Wearne's grocer's cart (used for deliveries) seen on far right. Side and back of house on adjoining block in background.

Historical information

Donation included newspaper clipping (copies) of Mr Wearne's courage in stopping a runaway tram after motorman was flung from his platform. 'Hollywood Grocer's Pluck' from 'The Mirror', March 6, 1937. Filed in Subiaco People file.

Mr Oswald Wearne owned 90 Hamersley Road and the adjoining lot no 94 (which included stables), 1920. Grocer's cart at far right was used by Mr Wearne for his deliveries. Grocer shop in Hampden Road, Hollywood.
